"All of life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied to a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly."

Sustain Winona: A Community Sustainability Collaboration

Calculating Our Carbon Footprints

The first step in an effective plan of action to conserve energy is to measure current energy use.  Once we know how much energy we use, we can then prioritize where best to take action. In the end, to be able to claim any energy savings and reduction, we must be able to document our savings.

The Sustain Winona Partnership's path to sustainability describes this current consumption calculation as a "carbon footprint", and each of the partners is in the process of calculating its carbon footprint. The partners are working with McKinstry Company to develop their carbon footprints.  As these reports are completed by our  partners, we will be posting them here.
